August 2005 Introduction:
T-Bill Version 8 T-Bill, our time &
material billing system, has been updated and enhanced in a new Version 8.
And we're proud to say this new version has all of the aspects of a "V8"
-- it's twice as fast, overall, than the previous T-Bill program.
What
T-Bill Does- Many contractors have service electricians,
data-com technicians, and workers with other descriptions out in the field
-- doing time & material work. McCormick Systems' T-Bill For Windows
is the perfect "sidekick" for these important people. It allows them to
access a complete database of items and assemblies in billing their
work. Further, the invoice portion
of T-Bill allows your service person to use different invoice
templates: ·
Time &
material ·
Time &
material not to exceed ·
Quoted ·
Callback T-Bill can be used on your
office PC. The option to put the program on a handheld computer (PDA), a
tablet PC, or a laptop, however, offers speed and efficiency.
Software-wise, T-Bill will run on anything from Windows 98 SE to Windows
XP. Transferring
Information Your service worker can
transfer information from his/her remote T-Bill program to your main
office computer in a variety of ways: 1.
If your
service tech is using a hand-held device, that unit can be put in a cradle
at your office. 2.
If he/she
uses a laptop, a disk can be transferred from it to an office computer or
across a network. 3. Through a
wireless link, users can transfer information seamlessly.
Work
Orders An add-on to the T-Bill
program offers Work Order capabilities. This will allow your service tech
to input an invoice right on a handheld (a Palm Pilot, in this case)
device at the service location (your customer's building). With the
ability to generate a Work Order, the invoice created on-site by the
technician or service person can be transferred right into T-Bill.
Wireless With certain criteria, your
service worker need not return to the office to transfer customer/billing
information from a field T-Bill program to your office system. It can be
accomplished wirelessly. With wireless capacity built in to virtually all
laptops these days -- and many other types of computers -- this can be a
"no-brainer." What's
Possible? While there is much criticism
of construction contractors as "backward," McCormick's T-Bill gives you
the opportunity to "rev up" your use of technology… Without the need for
mega-million dollar IT investments! Here's what's possible RIGHT
NOW: 1.
You equip
Joe, the service guy, with a Palm handheld computer. You load the T-Bill
PDA Work Order addition onto it. Your customized time and material
database items and assemblies are also loaded onto the
Palm. 2. At the customer's location,
Joe generates an Invoice on the fly -- using your customized time and
material database. 3.
The
invoice is detailed. Everything Joe has done is there, including any added
labor, specials, or comments. 4. Before doing anything else,
Joe shows the invoice to Fred, the building owner. Right there, on-site,
Fred acknowledges the invoice by signing it on Joe's
PDA! 5. Joe wirelessly
transmits the invoice to your office. 5.
At your
office, the invoice is received. It's faxed back to the customer --
immediately, if you can set up your systems and human response that
quickly. 7.
Bottom line: Joe has obtained the customer's signature on his time
& material invoice -- and had a paper copy faxed to the customer
before he leaves the premises! What's New
In T-Bill V8? McCormick Systems has
responded to contractor requests with the new T-Bill V8.
The
software now offers a higher level of stability.
It's
faster, in every operation. Our software engineers estimate it's twice as
fast as the previous version, overall. You
can now archive T-Bill invoices based on account status and date range.
Time & material work is
the "sweet spot" in electrical construction -- for most contractors, a
source of guaranteed profit. The only hurdle and hassle in turning T&M
work into $$$ is the process of billing the customer. With T-Bill V8, you
have a tool that can greatly accelerate the process. In fact, you can take
invoicing from days-to-weeks to . . .
minutes! For more information, contact
your McCormick representative -- or call us at 800-444-4890.
