McCormick Fact Sheet:

A Quick Review

Often, we human beings assume others know what we're talking about -- or, even, what we're thinking. We at McCormick Systems might be guilty of this sin, especially as we have introduced so many new products in recent years. To avoid future miscommunication, we're posting in this newsletter brief descriptions of all of our products.

Best of all, this newsletter will be here for a long time. No one will have to memorize what's here, or save a piece of paper -- we'll keep this information up here, for your reference when you need it.

Win PC Scale -- PC Scale is an entry-level program designed for the small contractor or the contractor just starting out. It is the fastest and easiest program to use on the market in its price range. As your business continues to grow you can upgrade your PC Scale to the next level with 100% trade-in credit. This is a great system for residential and light commercial jobs.

Win 3000 --The Win 3000 is a great place to start for the small to medium size contractor. It offers multiple levels of pricing, labor, and thousands of ways to breakout a job. You can count multiple assemblies at the same time with the 3-window takeoff to save time estimating. And for not much more money than PC Scale, the Win 3000 is a great solution for residential, tenant improvement or commercial contractors.

Win 6000 -- The Win 6000 is the most popular estimating system in the McCormick Product line. It includes all the great benefits of the Win 3000 plus a database with over 40,000 items and 13,000 pre-built assemblies. It has the ability to update pricing from major pricing services or multiple suppliers. With the advanced audit trail and edit extension, it allows you to make changes on-the-fly, instantly. The Win 6000 is capable of covering any job in the electrical industry from small residential to high-rise office buildings to heavy industrial jobs.

Win 8000 -- The Win 8000 is designed for the company with multiple estimators on a network. With one common database, the administrator can easily manage and update the estimating system. With the Win 8000, you can have multiple users working in the same job at the same time. This means no merging and cutting down the chance for mistakes.

Win 12000 -- The Win 12000 system takes the Win 8000 one step further. It is designed for a company that has multiple offices or needs access from their homes or job sites. Estimators, Project Managers, and Administrators can login from anywhere at anytime allowing for a true multi-user estimating system, this eliminates the need to merge jobs.

ABS -- Our product line for "automated building systems" work. This system was created for datacom contractors, security dealers, wireless work, fire alarm, burglar alarm, access control, and many other kinds of "low voltage" and building systems work. The various systems mirror the Win PC Scale and 3-6-8-12 line. They can be used by specialty contractors OR electrical contractors who are doing these special types of work.

ABS Scale, ABS 3000, ABS 6000, ABS 8000, ABS 12000 -- ABS versions of the electrical estimating systems detailed above.

Special Ancillary Products -- these products are available for both electrical and ABS estimating.

Change Order for Windows -- Our Change Order program tracks the exact status of all your change orders-- in addition to, or separate from, our main estimating product line. A "summary at a glance" interface quickly displays all needed information with a minimum of effort.

PDA Remote Takeoff -- On-site change orders and alternates could not possibly be easier. Put the McCormick Systems database -- with your company's modifications and additions -- right onto your favorite PDA. You can do takeoffs on a job site (for a renovation project at an existing building, for example).

Win T-Bill -- Our Windows Time and Material Billing system is designed to generate and track service work invoices. This system is designed to link with your current McCormick Systems estimating product, or as a stand-alone product. T-Bill can be single or Multi-user enabled, making sure all parties generate the same material invoices with the same costs.

CAD Estimating -- the CAD interface to the McCormick Systems estimating software does the counting. The estimator's time can be spent finding faster, smarter ways to get the job done, rather than mechanically counting numbers of light fixtures. Further, the CAD-plus-McCormick combination makes it extremely difficult for you to forget to include a transformer -- or anything else -- from a given job.

SUMMARY

McCormick Systems offer 19 products, as delineated above. If you do electrical construction work, or any kind of datacom, security, or other low-voltage installation, it's likely that we have just the right estimating software for your company. Don't hesitate to call us (800-444-4890) and ask for help in selecting from this wide variety of products. We have experienced field people who can help you choose exactly the product that will do the job for you and your people.

What We're Telling The Media

McCormick recently issued the following press release on our User's Conference, which is to be held March 8-11:

How Savvy Contractors Boost Their Estimating Productivity

How do smart electrical contractors improve their management productivity? They make better use of the electrical estimating software they’ve installed from McCormick Systems.

To learn how to do that, many will be in Tempe, AZ, on March 8-11 at the company’s annual User’s Conference. This year’s 24th annual User's Conference should match or top last year’s event. The 2005 edition drew more than 120 attendees – more contractors, estimators, and project managers than the company has seen at the conference since the 9/11 attack on our country.

“Our customers will get a hands-on introduction to Version 8.2 of our software program, which has nearly 20 enhancements – most of them created in response to specific customer requests.”, says Todd McCormick, the company president.

Included in the three-day event:

· Classroom sessions on new electrical estimating software features (as well as reviews of existing ones).

· In addition to V8.2, attendees will get to learn more about McCormick’s new line of ABS (automated building systems) software.

· Extended time for attendees in an on-site computer lab that consists of computers loaded with the complete line of McCormick Estimating products. This gives attendies more opportunities to try out what they’ve heard in the sessions and water cooler discussions.

· Give-and-take between the contractors, estimators, and project managers in attendance and McCormick staff – covering future enhancements and possible improvements in the program.

For information, see the User’s Conference tab at www.mccormicksys.com.

In addition, we recently sent out this release on our new ABS product line:

Contractors Who Do Building Systems Get Help With Estimating & More

With 27 years of electrical construction estimating experience under its belt, McCormick Systems has introduced its Automated Building Systems line of software. The company created the ABS products to help contractors who need to do fast, accurate estimates of any of the many jobs involved in automated building systems work.

“We’ve exhibited at BICSI conferences for many years,” says Todd McCormick, the company president. “And we’ve talked to our electrical contractor customers who do this type of work. We’ve come to understand the needs of datacom contractors, security dealers, and many other installers of what used to be called ‘low-voltage’ building systems.

“We’ve learned about their needs. Our new estimating software, with a specialized database, will make it easier for contractors doing ABS work – whether they are specialists or electrical contractors performing specialized tasks on a given project.”

McCormick offers ABS Scale, ABS 3000, ABS 6000, ABS 8000, and ABS 12000 software. The alternatives include the lowest-cost, simplest version of the software through to our networkable, multi-user version which enables several estimators to work simultaneously on a given estimate with perfect coordination.

“In our research, we were surprised to find that many ABS contractors use spreadsheets, and even paper, to do their estimates,” McCormick notes. “Our software isn’t hard to learn and offers flexibility and capabilities that estimators who are using paper – or even spreadsheets – can’t imagine.”
